Glenna Lunceford, Reece & Nichols Eastland in Independence

My real estate career began in 1969 as a part-time agent.  In 1970 I became full time and a member of the Eastern Jackson Country Board of Realtors.  I served that board in several offices and took an active role when the Women’s Council of Realtor chapter was formed.  I have been associated with several brokerages.  Reece and Nichols has been my “home” since 1992.

My activities with the Board of Realtors have been:

Professional Standards – MAR

Education Committee - MAR

Grievence Committee – KCRAR

Forms Committee – KCRAR

Government Affaiars – KCRAR

KCRAR Task Force

KCMetro WCR – President 2004

KCMetro WCR – Various Governing Board Duties

State Director – KCRAR since 2004

RPAC Committee – KCRAR

Honor Society – MAR

Member of the IT committee – Reece and Nichols

I have attended all the MAR State meetings and business conferences since 2003.

This profession has been very good to me and my family.  Changing markets are always a challenge, but you receive much individual growth from those markets.  I believe you need to give back to your profession.  Personal involvement and volunteering benefits me more than the organizations I am affiliated with.  I have been active in our region since the merger of the boards.  I would appreciate your support and pledge to give the job my all if you chose to elect me.

Thank you.

Dan O’Neill, Reece & Nichols Eastland in Independence

I would like to be a KCRAR Director for several reasons.  Primarily because I have this strong need to pay back to the Real Estate Community what it has done for me in providing continuing education, involving me in the forefront of residential and commercial development in my local community and keeping me on top of State and National issues that have impacted my business.  I would try to get members in the Show Me Region involved in activities on all levels.

As a member of Metro WCR for four years I served on the Ways and Means Committee three years 2005-2008.  This year serving as the Marketing Chairman.  KCRAR-Volunteered for the Show Me RPAC Auction 2004-2006 and Chaired the Auction in 2007.  Member of KCRAR’s Governmental Affairs Committee 07, and Vice Chairman of that committee 2008.  MAR-State Director 2007-08, Member of the State Legislative Committee 2008.  Member of Governmental Affairs Forum 2007 & 2008.  NAR-Federal Political Coordinator for the fifth District of Missouri 2008 (Eastern Jackson County).

I am a past President of the North Kansas City Junior Chamber of Commerce 1983-1984, Founding President of the Northland JC Foundation (501c3) and current Chairman of the Board.  Race Director 8 years for the St. Pat’s Snake Chase 5K Fun Run.  Served 10 years as a Personal Trainer at the Independence YMCA.  Deacon of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ Independence Mo.  Served as General Manager of General Fastener Inc.  1983-2000 and Division Manager of J & A Industries 2000-02.

C.L. Tally, Reece & Nichols Eastland in Independence

I would like to be considered for the Show Me Region Chairman position for Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS.  I have been a Realtor full time for the past 15 years and like many, not active in our organization. Or to participate in functions or activities available to members

In the last 6 years I have slowly increased my activities and participation and found that we really are a great organization and not only serve our clients, but work hard at bettering our communities, by local, state and national issues that affect home ownership and the communities that we live in.

I have been active in Missouri Association of REALTOR committees, Women’s Council of REALTORS, and Local organizations as listed on the enclosed resume.

My goal as a Show Me Region Chairman is member activation.  We have participation in our organization, but it is only a small percentage of the many that belong to Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS.   I would plan more functions that would offer insight into community activities and would encourage more Realtors to participate and attend functions. I am aware that the past years it has been difficult to get members to come to our functions. I want to strive to make a difference and get the word out and to make the functions fun and informative so more will want to come and participate. I would achieve this by having a committee with sub-chairs who would carry out different aspects of the functions.  The more we can get to participate in the functions the greater the organization will be.

I intend to work at making our organization a positive influence in our community and would appreciate your support.

Candidates for the At-Large Positions, with 2009-2011 terms, are:

Charise King Bronson, Broker Owner, Exodus Real Estate

Every aspect moves towards making a difference in the lives of people I come in contact with. The interaction with the mortgage company, the title company, the appraiser inspectors, provided invaluable education for me and my clients.  I am driven to do the same for the entire real estate community.  As the KCRAR Director, I am excited about the opportunity to have impact on legislation, enhancing multi-cultural involvement for   KCRAR & its members also areas of real estate that would be impacted politically.

I held a position on the Grievance Committee KCRAR for the past 3 years.  I am currently the Chair of the Housing Opportunity Committee, on the Strategic Planning Committee, Professional Standards & Practices Committee and I am Certified Workforce Housing Specialist.

During my career, I’ve dealt with people from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. This experience has shown me there is an extreme need for consistent, compassionate and dedicated Real Estate professionals that lead by example.  As a leader, I have hosted and facilitated home buying workshops at the Christian Fellowship Baptist Church and assisting with the Children of the Alvin Ailey Dance Camp summer 2008.   In addition, I have my own Real Estate firm where I mentor, develop and motivate new agents.  My leadership skills have been showcased on a more personal level. I have taken the time to assist children in the community with home work to ensure a strong scholastic foundation. With the recent shift in the market…. by no other choice; I’ve attained knowledge that is invaluable;  becoming nonetheless committed to the education and development of my immediate community and of those affiliated with real estate.  There is a Biblical proverb “ Give a man a fish… feed him for the day…Teach a Man to fish… feed him for a Lifetime” I chose the latter.

1. Why do you want to serve as a KCRAR Director?

Our business is changing and I believe that being a Broker/Owner carries with it a responsibility to ensure the continuation of professional standards and the development of new licensees. To be a good leader, you must always be looking forward and developing a strategy for success. I want to help guide our Board of Realtors over the next three years.

3. What has been your leadership experience in the real estate business?

In 1996, I left the corporate world and obtained my real estate license. In 1997, I started my own independent brokerage and began my career as a Managing Broker.  The duties of a Managing Broker include but not limited to training, supervising, office operations and growth of the office. I continued on this path until 2003 when I became the Broker/Manager of a national franchise with responsibility for 40+ associates. In 2007, I joined EXIT as a Broker/Manager and in May of 2008 bought the franchise. I now have been a Managing Broker and Owner for over 11 years and I continue to learn everyday. I have earned the CRB designation (Council of Residential Brokerage Managers ) and a current Chapter member.

I have high integrity and a real desire to serve my fellow Realtors as well as the consumers. To help the KCRAR Board determine the value it brings to the Realtor community.

2. What has been your past service and/or participation in the Realtor Organization?

In 2006 I was a Diversity Committee member and in 2007 I was the chair of this committee. Several of our major accomplishments were:

3. What has been your leadership experience in the real estate business, and or other community, civic religious or other business organization?

The longer I am in the real estate industry the more I am convinced that owning a home promotes financial security but more important owning a home creates communities. Communities where people live raise their families, make friends, and where kids attend school. I have lived in several major cities in the country and none offer the sense of community that Kansas City offers.
